Professor Dan Zahavi is one of our three keynote speakers at this year’s online British Society for Phenomenology annual conference.
Dan is professor of philosophy at the University of Copenhagen and the University of Oxford, and director of the Center for Subjectivity Research (CFS) in Copenhagen. As well as a number of works on the phenomenology of Husserl, he has written on the nature of selfhood, self-consciousness, intersubjectivity, and social cognition. His most recent publications include Self and Other (2014), Husserl’s Legacy (2017), and Phenomenology: The Basics (2019). Dan also serves as the co-editor in chief of the journal Phenomenology and the Cognitive Sciences.
“I am currently working on two different projects. One focused on how best to apply and use phenomenology in qualitative research and the other on developing a phenomenology of the we.”
We are really delighted to have Dan speak at our conference, and are very much looking forward to his Zoom paper ‘Pure and Applied Phenomenology’. This year’s British Society for Phenomenology annual conference is co-organised with the University of Exeter, and co-sponsored by Egenis and the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health.
