Giulio Marchegiani – Book Review: Husserl’s Phenomenology between Physics and Metaphysics: ‘Philosophy’s Nature: Husserl’s Phenomenology, Natural Science, and Metaphysics by Emiliano Trizio’ [New York, Routledge, 2020]. (Review originally published online: 23 February 2022).
Opening: In the framework of the current epistemological, ontological and metaphysical debate about the relationship between reality and physical theories about it, a certain tendency to fix a conceptuality and a certain linguistic standard often lead to the misunderstanding of the most radical positions not attributable to the standard, such as the phenomenological one, which is often interpreted as supporting positions that are actually far from it, if not opposed to it. Along with other undoubted merits, a text such as Emiliano Trizio’s Philosophy’s Nature: Husserl’s Phenomenology, Natural Science, and Metaphysics is, in this context, a valuable tool for the correct positioning of phenomenology in such a debate.
