The Lithuanian Association for Phenomenology (LAP) was established in May 2005 in Vilnius. It is dedicated to promoting and exploring the phenomenological movement and its legacy in Lithuania. As a non-profit organization, LAP promotes research, fosters awareness of phenomenology, and highlights its practical applications. Currently, these goals are pursued through the association’s Facebook page and organized events such as conferences, seminars, book presentations and discussions.

Membership in the association is free and open to anyone interested in supporting its mission and participating in its activities.

LAP events provide a welcoming and collaborative space for interdisciplinary discussions. The Annual Conference, a key event, aims to explore the intersection of phenomenological theory, history, and practice, bringing together academics and practitioners from diverse fields. Recent conferences have been dedicated to the phenomenological concept of “sedimentation” (2022, 2023, 2024). Conferences feature keynote lectures, research presentations, thematic panels, roundtable discussions, book sessions, and dialogues on topics within and connecting phenomenology with other areas of philosophy. Members of LAP are also actively involved in collaboration with scholars from the Nordic Society for Phenomenology, Central and Eastern European scholars, as well as researchers from United States and Hong Kong.
