The Romanian Society for Phenomenology was founded in 2000 to promote research in phenomenology, coordinate the development of this discipline in Romania, and support the creation of a specialized phenomenological community within the country.

Publications

The Society’s primary publication is Studia Phaenomenologica, a yearbook founded in 2001 and published since 2015 by Zeta Books. The journal features original works in phenomenology and hermeneutics, published in English, French, and German. All articles are either blind-refereed or invited. Each issue focuses on a thematic dossier, complemented by a “Varia” section with contributions from diverse phenomenological perspectives. Newsletter of Phenomenology: Since May 2002, the Society has been editing the Newsletter of Phenomenology in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Research in Phenomenology (CARP). Hosted since 2016 by the Open Commons of Phenomenology, this newsletter provides updates on key events in the field, including calls for papers, upcoming conferences, and new publications. Newsletter of Romanian Philosophy. Initiated in 2007, this newsletter announces recent developments in Romanian philosophical communities, encompassing authored books, journal articles, translations, conferences, and calls for papers from academic contexts in Romania and abroad. Research Centre

“Alexandru Dragomir” Institute of Philosophy. Established in 2009, this private and independent research centre focuses on high-quality philosophical research, with a special emphasis on phenomenology and hermeneutics. Since its inception, the Institute has hosted 20 research projects funded by the Romanian Ministry of Research, including 7 postdoctoral projects, 8 projects for early-career teams, and 5 exploratory team projects for advanced researchers, employing a total of 40 researchers.
